Services ~ Camping Support

We provide camping support for one simple reason – when touring in Oregon if you are not prepared to camp out you eliminate most of the possible tour routes that you could ride. The number of routes where motels are available every 50 to 100 miles is quite limited.

Prior to the availability of our tour services the only way that you could do multi‐day tours in the remote areas of Oregon was to 1) go on one of the large scale event tours, 2) carry all of your own gear, or 3) get family or friends to support you. Now we bring the kind of services provided by the large scale event tours to small personal groups.

What about when motels are available? If a group wants to stay in motels every night, or just a few nights, and motels are available on the chosen route we are more than happy to book those accommodations for the group. Sometimes a motel stay is a “must do” for a given route. For example when staying overnight in Baker City you must stay in the Geiser Grand Hotel which was built in 1889 and is registered as a National Historic Landmark. Sometimes a motel stay is simply convenient, such as when riding into Jacksonville to attend a concert at the Britt Festival. By staying in the Stage Lodge the group has the independence to walk around town at will.

While it is true that our groups camp out most nights, we don’t think that they should have to “rough it”. We like to think that we provide the facilities such that our guests enjoy “comfort camping”. Our camp sites include tables and chairs for everyone, hot and cold running water for our camp kitchen and showers, portable shelters for sun and rain protection, and even clothes drying racks to hang up your riding clothes after you wash them out after your ride. See the Camp Gear page for more details.
